INTERIOR DESIGN IDEAS

Interior design ideas don’t have to stop at aesthetics. Each piece you bring into your home tells the story of you and represents something, be it a symbol, a memory or simply your taste. What I love about this little X TRAY planter by Vitamin Living is that it can be placed as an X or a plus sign or even seen as a cross. I have used ours with a pop of colorful flowers, wheat grass or fresh herbs. It would also be great on a desk to hold paper clips and other office treats.

INTERIOR DESIGN IDEAS – SYMBOLS IN DESIGN

There are so many wonderful interior design ideas that come from using symbology to tell someone’s story. Of course the symbols of the CROSS beyond being an iconic spiritual reminder, it also has a protective quality. I have always loved the symbol of the X as well. The X represents the decision to shift from old patterns and grow beyond it to find a healthier way to live. I use this philosophy in the visualizations that I prescribe to clients to help them shift beyond patterns that make them feel stuck. For me interior design can have a therapeutic approach that when married to the beautiful visuals can impact us on a profound level. It may be the way I grew up (My mother founded the Shambhalla Institute which uses many transformational techniques for people and spaces) but I feel that there is a strong correlation between one’s space and one’s psyche. Peppering wonderful design elements like the X-Tray that can carry a more meaningful symbol makes my job more dynamic.
