GREEN DESIGN – FUNCTIONAL ART

Greg Klessen is an environmentally conscientious furniture designer. Sourcing only locally sustainable wood from the banks of the Nooksack River, he handcrafts tables inspired by the waterways of the Pacific North. What I love about his work is the interpretation of nature, using the shapes of wood and water in their natural form to inspire the shape and concept of the overall piece.

GREEN DESIGN – BEING A CONSCIENCE DESIGNER

Being a conscience designer myself, there are so many layers to being thoughtful throughout the process of transforming environments.  The materials we choose to the symbols we surround ourselves with meaningful story we create through the design concept. Having sources like Greg’s work out there makes my job so much more fulfilling as his story and heart goes into each piece that he creates, making the client’s home even more special by having these beautiful pieces in their home.

GREEN DESIGN – FENG SHUI

Wood and water have a nurturing relationship. Wood needs water to grow, thus adding more water in an area related to wood in feng shui is a benefit. Adding a table with the symbol of a river running through can be a perfect item for a water sign as it both nurtures and grounds them at the same time.
