Kim’s Blog

Hello…thank you for reading my first blog. I thought about what I wanted to begin with and realized that my art mixed with everything I learned from my mother about environments is really the genesis of my career in creating interiors. I did the painting on the left when I was in college, getting my theater degree at NYU. I studied psychology and all forms of artistic expression in school….from set design to graphic arts. It was the study character…or people really…that interested me most….how people see the world differently and find their own unique way of expressing themselves, through their interests, color, personality or style. My art became a way for me to reveal my innate self behind the walls of a canvas…a mixture of subliminal and sub-conscious symbols that defined my convictions and point of view. Art was one of my first loves. I didn’t realize it until today, but these paintings are the spring board to how I create environments today. It is the tiniest of details that reveal subtleties in their personality. This intuitive and therapeutic process of designing an environment that showcases the essence of who they are…or the nuances of the company’s brand…is what I love the most about what I do.
