Blog – Art in Design
Hello… thank you for reading my first blog. In figuring out how I wanted to begin, I realized that my background in art… mixed with everything I learned from my mother about transforming environments is really the genesis of my career today. I did the painting on the left when I was in college. I was getting my degree in theater from NYU. I studied psychology and went through all forms of artistic expression… from acting to graphic arts and before that ballet. It was the study of character… or people really that interested me most… how people see the world differently and find their own unique way of expressing themselves through their personal interests, color, personality or style. My art became a way for me to reveal my innate self behind the walls of a canvas… a mixture of subliminal and sub-conscious symbols that defined my convictions and point of view. Art was one of my first loves. I didn’t realize it until today, but these paintings are the spring board to how I create environments for other people. It is the tiniest of details that reveal subtleties in my client’s personality. This intuitive and therapeutic process showcases the essence of who my client’s are innately… or articulates the nuances of their company’s brand. In the end, it is this visceral quality that I love the most about what I do.
